Sustainable Design
Sustainable design at Sprinkees means creating products which are:
- Ageless;
- Genderless;
- Timeless;
- Convertible and can be used multiple ways;
- Easily modified as you grow and your style evolves.
Our bag range has been designed to last your entire lifetime, with each bag sized to fit you from toddlerhood to adulthood. This also means that parents can now finally raid their children's wardrobe instead of the other way around!
We know most people have a few favourite colours they gravitate towards throughout their life, that's why we are on a mission to stock all our products in timeless colours instead of only stocking the latest colour trends.
Sustainable Materials
- As a vegan and cruelty-free brand, we only use animal-free materials which don't harm animals, and are just as durable as traditional animal leather.
- Most of our products are made from plant-based, planet friendly materials that are either compostable, biodegradable or recyclable.
- We've chosen not to use recycled polyester as it's a petroleum-based plastic material and still takes decades to decompose at the end of it's life.
- If we do choose to use recycled polyester, we only use the latest innovation which is a biodegradable recycled polyester which has a biocatalyst added to the yarn that allows microbes in landfill to digest the fabric at a rate similar to natural fibres, therefore decomposing in a shorter timespan without creating harm to the soil or environment.
- We'll only use biodegradable recycled polyester as a last resort if we've been unable to find a plant-based alternative that performs just as well.
- Our metal products are made from either stainless steel or aluminium which are two of the most durable and sustainable metals.
- We chose stainless steel as it's 100% recyclable, meaning less energy is used to produce it and no metal is lost in the recycling process. As it can be recycled over and over again without losing any of it's properties, stainless steel is one of the most durable metals, meaning your Sprinkees products will last you years. It's also anti-corrosion, anti-oxidisation and has high wear resistance.
- We're always researching the latest innovations in the textile industry, and the suppliers we have chosen to work with are leading innovators in sustainable next generation materials and manufacturing practices.
Ethical and Sustainable Development and Manufacturing Practices
At Sprinkees, we only work with the best suppliers all over the world who are committed to sustainable and ethical business practices.
We choose to work with Australian based businesses when possible. Most of our product development is done with a fellow Australian business based in Melbourne, all our scarf labels are made in Sydney, we work with a creative graphic designer and photographer based in Victoria, and most of our packaging and postage supplies are sourced from Australian businesses.
Manufacturing for our products is completed overseas by businesses that adhere to sustainable and ethical business models.

- 100% hemp dyed with non-toxic AZO-free dyes.
- Hemp is one of the most sustainable fibres on the planet which uses less water, zero chemicals, is zero waste as all parts of the plant can be used, and produces 250% more fibre than cotton and up to 600% more fibre than flax (linen) per acre.

Mailer Bag
- Made from 70-80% PBAT (a co-polymer that is completely compostable) and 20-30% PLA derived from corn.
- Takes up to 120 days to break down in your home compost, or 90 days in a commercial compostable environment.
